My First Day

My first day was amazing in Hawaii!! I arrived July 1st and my roommate helped me to go shopping at the local food store. Afterwards we took cantaloupe and went down to the beach (which is right across from our house!!) We watched the sun set, and it was amazing.

Over the Island

When we were going over the island it was amazing. We circled around before we landed, and it was beautiful. The clouds covered the island and the mountains were so green. I love it. Amazing experience.
(Though it took a couple of days for my ears to fully clear up, haha!)

On the Plane

Below are some pictures I took while I was on the airplane! My mother, bless her soul, paid extra just so I could have a window seat. Haha! I made good use of it! The trip was amazing.
What was funny, I was sitting in the wrong seat, and when I realized that, I moved to the other side of the aisle. This lady sitting next to me had made the same mistake! haha! We soon laughed about it, and I said it was my first time, on a commercial airplane, and going to Hawaii! She had done both before, and after that we continued to have a great conversation. She even bought me some snacks! She took some pics of me at the airport. It was awesome! Love meeting new people in the strangest of places :D
I made it through security pretty fast, and I found my bags alright. It was strange, and a little nervous being on my own, with no one to meet me but a cab driver. But I was ready to come here and find the peace I was looking for. And I did find it.

Sunrise over the ocean - one of the most beautiful things seen from earth

I watched the Sun as it came up that day. I don't even remember what day it was. I just remember that It was incredible. If you have a chance to see the sunrise directly over the ocean, take it. It is worth it and I loved the experience. Get there just before the sun comes over the horizon. Then, as it peeks out, you can look directly at the golden beauty of the sun, look straight at it, as long as you want, without hurting your eyes. Your heart, on the other hand, will be amazed.
